Working with farmers, landowners, communities and conservation experts, we've identified eight overarching priorities that apply across South Yorkshire, regardless of habitat or land type. These sit alongside habitat-specific priorities and together they set out the practical steps needed to restore nature at scale.
The eight overarching priorities are: bringing nature closer to people, especially in communities where access to green space is limited; building partnerships across organisations, farms and communities; creating opportunities for people to get actively involved in nature recovery; tackling invasive species; improving the management of existing green spaces and creating new ones; helping people understand and respect nature to reduce damage at sensitive sites; building climate resilience into our natural habitats; and protecting, expanding and connecting the places where nature can thrive.
